The «Riffelalp Resort 2222m» lies 2222 m (7290 ft.) above sea level on the southern edge of a plateau, at the heart of the Gornergrat skiing/hiking district. The Grand Hotel Riffelalp celebrated its grand opening for summer tourism on 10 July 1884 and quickly became a playground for Europe’s high society.
