The Claridge Zürich Hotel - one of the oldest hotels in Zurich - was built in 1835, and still conveys the comfortable serenity of an affluent merchant's house. The hotel is set in flowered gardens and located in a very peaceful residential area, close to Zurich's art gallery and main theatre. Claridge Zurich Hotel has its own parking spaces. In January 2002, the ground floor of the hotel was completely renovated by the famous interior designer, Pia Schmid. The new lobby has been created with Feng Shui in mind, using running water and creating a clear view through the reception into the hotel kitchen.
